Brot aus Italien

Die Vielfalt an italienischem Brot ist groß – vom Südtiroler Schüttelbrot bis zum Ciabatta in Venetien, der Pizza aus Neapel und dem Focaccia aus Ligurien, um nur einige zu nennen. Viele dieser Brotsorten werden in Varianten mit getrockneten Tomaten, Oliven, Rosmarin oder anderen Zutaten zubereitet. Olivenöl ist ein wesentlicher Bestandteil vieler Rezepte für Brot.
Dazu haben wir passende Brotaufstriche im Sortiment, hergestellt aus aromatischen italienischen Zutaten. Ein Klassiker darunter ist Bruschetta, das sowohl den Brotaufstrich als auch das knusprige Brot bezeichnen kann.

Grissini & Co.

Die Italiener verstehen es auch, Gebäcke zum Knabbern zu entwickeln. Die meisten Genießer kennen die Grissini genannten Knabberstangen, die man zu Suppen oder Wein knuspert. Eine andere Form haben Taralli; sie werden vor dem Garen zu Ringen geformt. Ein beliebtes Antipasto sind Crostini, geröstete Weißbrotscheiben, die mit Knoblauch eingerieben und mit Tomaten (oder Patés) belegt und Olivenöl beträufelt werden. Auch hier wird die Bezeichnung ssowhl für das Brot (it. pane) als auch den Belag bzw. Brotaufstrich verwendet. Crostino toscano beispielsweise ist ein Rezept, bei dem Hühnerleber verwendet wird.
